5 Ways To Maintain Mind, Body, Spirit Balance This Summer.

I love love love this topic because we can all relate to needing to maintain balance in life. For some reason, when Summertime hits, it’s easy to drink Sangria or Rosé all day for those vacationers and to eat endless hamburgers and pizzas because—well— we are in a vacay state of mind.

If you’re like me though, I feel best when I am conscious of the food I am eating, how I am expending energy, and what I am feeding my brain as far as through reading, conversations, church gatherings, and furthering my academic education.

When all facets of me are being nourished (i.e. my mind, body, and spirit), I feel at my best and as though I can thrive at whatever I intend to do.

With that said though, achieving maximum, optimum health can be a lifelong journey. I know my attempts at achieving it are not over—I am not certain they ever will be. We can envision attaining health as a beautiful dance, a beautiful rhythm in which we listen to our minds, bodies, and spirits and look to our relationships and ask that within each facet, that we be guided (and make wise decisions) to our ultimate vibrancy, thriving, and health statuses. I feel as though the way we personally, and subjectively approach our own health can change as circumstances, cells, hormones, etc. change over time—necessitating new routines.

And I think that if we have lived 30 plus years on Earth, we are quite aware that our physiology is greatly affected by 3 things:

  1. Mind health
  2. Body health
  3. Spiritual health

And it is greatly important that we recognize that these 3 are interconnected.

So, with that, here are 5 Tips To Balance Your Whole Physiology This Summer:

  1. Drink 2 Liters of water per day
  2. Walk at least 30 minutes per day (or deep breathe for 30 minutes if walking isn’t possible).
  3. Spend 30 minutes per day in meditation or prayer
  4. Be social and surround yourself with those you love
  5. Eat mostly vegetables, fruit, whole grains, and low-fat complete protein foods (if you can’t read the ingredient because it is a complicated chemical, just skip it).
